Barbee-Graham Ventures, LLC, was formed by co-founders Devin Barbee and Joey Graham in 2014. Devin Barbee is a familiar name to Concord. He retired from NASCAR in 2008 to open a successful upscale, butcher shop called, The Stock Market. With Devin’s attention to detail, and strong management skills, The Stock Market has flourished in Concord as the go-to place for the best cuts of Angus beef, steroid-free chicken, turkey, pork and other specialty items. Devin, however, always had the desire to open a restaurant in addition to his butcher shop. Joey Graham, a native of Chester, SC, brings a different set of skills to the table. He loves to cook and experiment with cooking styles. He earned his way through school and made his living after school, working, operating and managing restaurants, all the while developing a distinctive, cooking style of his own. He operated a successful, downtown Charlotte restaurant and bar for several years, however, always had the desire to open a BBQ Restaurant… Two minds coming from two different perspectives with the same goal and thus was born, THE SMOKE PIT. Barbee’s quality meats and Graham’s years-in-the-making recipes are THE perfect combination! Joey has been all over the country tasting amazing BBQ from Texas, South Carolina, Kansas City, Memphis and Florida and has incorporated the inspiration he brought back from each state to create THE SMOKE PIT’s menu. The Smoke Pit offers breakfast and lunch served daily except Sundays and takeout orders are available. The Smoke Pit’s Holiday Specials include the best, smoked turkeys, chicken and hams, fully cooked and ready for your holiday table.
