The largest holiday lights extravaganza in the Southeast, this Charlotte Motor Speedway tradition features 4 million LED lights, a 100-foot slide, 75-foot Christmas tree, 50-foot Ferris wheel, 100-foot LED-lighted tunnel, Christmas Village, drive-in holiday movies on a 16,000-square-foot screen and so much more!
Whether you’re visiting for an outing with the whole family or a couple’s date night, here are a few pointers on how to enjoy this spectacular show, save with discounts and see it all!
Wondering when to visit? Speedway Christmas runs from November 22, 2019-January 5, 2020 and is closed on Christmas Day. The drive-through light show is open nightly from 6-10pm. On Thursday through Sunday nights and every night from December 12-December 29, the family-friendly Christmas Village is open and features tons of fun in the infield including drive-in movies.
Have a favorite holiday flick? Plan to visit on the night it’s playing on the giant Speedway TV! Movies are played twice nightly with the first showing at 6:30pm. Here’s the schedule:
Let’s talk tickets! Admission prices are per car rather than per person. Advance tickets are sold for the vehicle only and must be printed (no mobile tickets!). Pricing varies based on what night you’re visiting and the vehicle you’re driving, so be sure to check www.CharlotteMotorSpeedway.com for full details on admission. Check Out What’s New! The theme this year is Santa’s Safari, so keep an eye out for the area of the 3.75-mile course that includes whimsical characters you’d spot on an African safari! Plus, a 75-foot Christmas tree with RGB lights—the latest and greatest technology—is synchronized to music for another awe-inspiring sight. In the Christmas Village, stroll through the new 100-foot LED-lighted tunnel for an Instagram-worthy shot, then take a turn on the 100-foot slide joining the crowd-favorite carousel and Ferris wheel this year.

Skip the line with a Fast Pass and get straight to the fun! Watch their faces light up along with the twinkling lights, keep them cozy and entertained with happenings inside the Christmas Village and grab a snack to enjoy during the drive-in movie. Don’t forget to get a photo with Santa!
After driving through the lights, kids can zoom down the new 100-foot slide, ride the carousel and Ferris wheel plus enjoy games and see the nativity at Bethlehem Village. Be sure they bring their wish list to share with the man in red, then enjoy an interactive treat at the s’mores making station.
Help your teenagers snap some share-worthy photos during your visit with a stop at the selfie wall and stroll through the 100-foot LED-lighted tunnel. Then, grab tasty treats from the fun food vendors, have some laughs as movies like Elf and Christmas Vacation play on the big screen, or catch live music on stage.
For a fun twist on dinner and a movie, make a reservation to enjoy an upscale meal with a view above the lights at The Speedway Club. Then, drive through the light show and be sure to stop at the Overlook in turns 3 & 4. Afterwards, grab a craft beer or hot cocoa and cozy up to a holiday classic drive-in movie.
