  • Root for the Home Team: Celebrate Father’s Day at the ball park in Kannapolis, home of NASCAR Legend Dale Earnhardt. The Kannapolis Intimidators MILB have a home game vs West Virginia at 2:05 p.m. Arrive early for the Father’s Day promotions, including a pregame catch on the field starting at 1 p.m. and pregame batting practice for just $20 starting at noon. U.S. National Whitewater Center: Less than 30 minutes south of Cabarrus County, you’ll find this amazing outdoor recreational center. The park’s main attraction is a whitewater river for rafting and canoeing/kayaking. Additional features are mountain biking and running trails, a climbing center, and a challenge course on more than 300 acres of woodlands along the scenic Catawba River. Set up a guided kayaking tour for you and Dad and then challenge each other to a race on one of the trails!
