Get ready for pure burger bliss—the inaugural “Cabarrus Burger Madness” celebration is underway! Check out all the details below, then start mapping out your own tasty tour of Cabarrus County, NC.

The Details

WHO: 12 local chefs and countless hungry diners!

WHAT: Brand new burger creations are available for a limited time at 12 local restaurants! Devour, deliberate, and vote for your favorite! Mouthwatering descriptions for all burgers are below.

WHEN: March 1-31. The “Most Popular Burger” will be announced on April 1!

WHERE: Cabarrus County, NC! Click on the restaurants listed next to each burger below for contact information, social media channels and more. Participating restaurants are located in Concord, Harrisburg, Kannapolis, and Mt. Pleasant.

WHY: This friendly, bragging-rights competition showcases the culinary creativity of Cabarrus County’s chefs and gives diners exciting new dishes to sample!

The Lineup


Jazzed Burger –  2 Gals Kitchen
Lean burger patty with a fried egg, candied bacon, grilled asparagus, smoked gouda, and sweet onion spread served on an everything bagel.


The Local One – 73 & Main
Local beef and bacon ground together for the perfect patty, made complete using aged cheddar cheese, crispy buttermilk fried bacon, house-made mayo, baby bibb lettuce, fresh tomato and onion served on a brioche bun. Paired with hand cut fries, house-made ketchup and a side of smokey bourbon jus for dipping.

Includes locally-sourced items from Ashe County Cheese, Albemarle’s Spring Lake Family Farms, Mt. Pleasant’s Southern Grace Distilleries, and Green Leaf Farms, Cruse Meats, & Dough NY Bakery in Concord.


Gettin’ Figgy With It – Cabarrus Brewing Company
A ½-pound Certified Angus Beef patty topped with semi-soft French Brie, crisp romaine lettuce, fresh-sliced Roma tomato, and house-made fig jam. Served on a toasted brioche bun.



Cowboys BBQ Burger – Chophouse 101
A juicy beef burger, slice of American cheese, smoked sea salt, ground black pepper, pulled pork, 101 Winning BBQ Sauce and coleslaw.



The Cuban Fritta Burger – Havana Carolina
Seasoned ground beef and chorizo patty, grilled with onions and topped with tomatoes, lettuce, and shoestring potatoes. Served in a pressed Cuban hamburger bread.



The Southern Charm Hot Box Next Level Kitchen at Southern Strain Brewing
A 1/3-pound brisket blend patty, Dukes multi-grain bun, pimento cheese spread, HBX pickles, and house fried green tomatoes.



Jalapeño Jack Burger – Jackie Boy’s Grill & Tap (Concord & Kannapolis locations)
Roasted jalapeño queso burger on Jackie Boy’s signature 8-ounce prime ground beef burger with crispy onions.


The Candied G.O.A.T. Burger
Johnny Roger’s BBQ & Burgers
Johnny Roger’s “Best in the Carolinas” hand-pattied all-beef burger, seasoned and seared to perfection. Topped with house-candied bacon, buttermilk fried onion frizzles, creamy goat cheese, smokehouse aioli and lettuce and tomato on a local-baked classic burger bun.



Big Bad Mad Burger – Parkway House (Concord Parkway & Union Street locations)
Double burger with American and Provolone cheese, topped with bacon, grilled jalapeño peppers and onions with lettuce, tomatoes, and special Mad Sauce on a brioche bun.


Homerun Burger – Punchy’s Diner

Two 4-ounce all-beef patties, house-made chipotle pimento cheese, and six slices of bacon all between a grilled glazed donut freshly made at The Donut House in Kannapolis.



Pimento Cheeseburger
The Smoke Pit (Concord)
House-made pimento cheese, bread and butter pickles, mayo, and onions. Each Burger is ground using brisket, short rib, and chuck to The Smoke Pit’s specifications. Every Burger has two 4-ounce patties, grilled to a perfect medium well. Served with fries.


The New Tradition – Vortex Bottle Shop

An 8-ounce house ground chuck blend, fresh pimento cheese, brown sugar/black pepper bacon, fried pickled green tomatoes, and chive aioli on a roasted garlic milk bread bun from Local Loaf. Available Monday through Saturday, 5pm-close.
