About CabarrusApril 26, 2018
Engines rev up for the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals on Friday, April 27 and the action continues through Sunday, April 29. Here are five reasons you should join us in Concord, NC this weekend!
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of zMAX Dragway, the first four-lane drag strip on the NHRA schedule. Known as “the Bellagio of Drag Strips,” zMAX has celebrated a lot of famous firsts over the years. It hosted the first NHRA-sanctioned four-wide race. It was also home to the first 1,000-ft. lap run in under four seconds in Funny Car history– completed in 3.995 seconds by driver Matt Hagan. See the full list of firsts here.
Each nitro-burning machine boasts 10,000-horsepower. Combined with the layout of the original four-lane drag strip, this set up means that you get the full effect of 40,000-horsepower tearing down the track as the best racers in the sport run side-by-side-by-side-by-side. Talk about an adrenaline rush!
All tickets to the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals give you access to the pits where you can see your favorite drivers, hard-working crews and their impressive cars up close. Get to the track early to take in pre-race action or stroll through behind-the-scenes excitement at any time during the event.
If you have tickets for Sunday, be sure to arrive in time for the track walk into pre-race ceremonies, including driver introductions. From 10:30am-12pm, several NHRA stars and their families will join fans to walk down the sticky lanes of zMAX Dragway giving you yet another chance to see your favorites!
You read that right– all kids under 13 years old get in for free with a paying adult. Adult tickets start at just $25 making this an affordable outing for the whole family.
