When they moved to town in 2012, Jim 'N Nick's quickly won over the CabCo community with their cheese biscuits, smoked-to-perfection plates and southern hospitality. This freezer-less barbecue joint topped FOX News list of best barbecue chains in America (March 2014), made Southern Living's Reader's Pick list for best pork sandwich (June 2013), and was also awarded Restaurant of the Year at the 2013 Golden Helmet Awards.

5. Punchy's Diner
Punchy's is a family-friendly, 50's styled diner, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Indulge in sandwiches, plate dinners, salads, ice cream and Dale Earnhardt's favorite tomato sandwich.

6. R&R Barbeque
Become part of the Great North Carolina BBQ debate and sample some true Eastern NC vinegar-based pork BBQ at R&R Barbeque. It's a railroad-themed restaurant offering everything from a kids menu to hush puppies.

7. Restaurant 46
Named for the number of human chromosomes, this elegant restaurant serves  healthful food inspired by the nearby North Carolina Research Campus. The restaurant gets most of its fish from Hawaii and uses local produce.

8. Rocky River Grille
This stunning restaurant in the Embassy Suites offers casual yet elegant dining. New world tastes meet classic American cuisine in a charged atmosphere with hip comfort. The restaurant and lounge overlook the scenic Rocky River Golf Club.

9. The Speedway Club
As part of Charlotte Motor Speedway's new Over the Wall daily tour, The Speedway Club holds a unique place both in North Carolina's racing legacy and in the world of private clubs. Sample Chef Pete Nowak's culinary creations as you enjoy one of the best views in the house.  Awarded Restaurant of the Year at the 2014 Golden Helmet Awards.

10. The Wine Room
Offering 20 wines from around the world by the glass, the Wine Bar has a bistro menu with a delicious selection of appetizers ranging from an international cheese board to a spinach and sun-dried tomato dip. Feeling hungrier than that? Try a sandwich, soup or salad. Or skip straight to dessert with a piece of chocolate bourbon pecan pie, apple crumb tart or Cheesecake Factory cheesecake.
