Race Shops

Did you know that 90% of NASCAR race shops are located in Cabarrus County and the surrounding area? Visiting race shops allows you to get a behind the scenes look into how the teams prepare for race day. Who knows? You may even catch a glimpse of your favorite driver passing through!

Day 1:

Stewart-Haas Racing:  Owned by 2011 Sprint Cup champion, Tony Stewart, and founder of Haas Automation, Gene Haas, experience the energy inside this 140,000 square foot facility where winning race cars are on display with nostalgic racing portraits, trophies and more. Preview how cars come together through large viewing windows, and with new drivers on the roster for 2014, the Team Store at Stewart-Hass Racing is the perfect place to pick up the latest gear.

Roush Fenway Racing: Start your experience with the roar of the engines as pit crews practice on campus. Then step inside the 100-seat theater watching some of Roush Fenway Racing’s greatest moments! Then share their pride by taking in the trophies, memorabilia and race cars on display. Before you leave, be sure to make a stop at RFR’s retail store, where fans will find merchandise and apparel from their official line.

Richard Petty Motorsports: After checking out Roush Fenway Racing, head next door to The King’s place—Richard Petty Motorsports. Although the facility does not currently offer tours, fans are welcome inside the lobby of the team’s Concord Headquarters to check out the driver displays.

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates: Stop in and spend some time at this state-of-the-art facility in Concord. The vast viewing area allows fans to get up close to the action as crews prepare for the next race. Looking for your apparel, die-cast replicas, caps or other souvenirs? You’ll find them at the Team Store right on campus.

Day 2:

Behind the scenes at Hendrick Motorsports: Located just one mile from Charlotte Motor Speedway, this state-of-the-art campus features the cutting-edge equipment and technology to help crews prepare for race day. Home of four full time NASCAR Sprint-Cup teams including drivers Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt Jr., Hendrick Motorsports has fan viewing areas in both the 48/88 and 5/24 shops. Fans can also visit the Museum and Team Store which features exhibits that showcase the history of Hendrick Motorsports through race cars, memorabilia, and trophies. Find exclusive items in the Team Store including tires and lug nuts used in competition!

Take in the history at Wood Brothers Racing: As the oldest continuously operating NASCAR Sprint Cup Team, legendary Wood Brothers Racing enters its 64th year of competition in 2014. Stop the Harrisburg, NC Headquarters to learn more about how brothers and NASCAR Hall of Famer’s Glen and Leonard Wood built perhaps one of the most storied enterprises in NASCAR.
